The several events included in the festival will be held on Fri- Sun, 9-11 November 2007, at South Dallas Cultural Center, 3400 S. Fitzhugh Ave., Dallas TX 75210.
Planned events will include performances by several companies; a Praise Dance showcase; master classes, including Afro-Caribbean Dance with Gary De Matas, from Trinidad, Artistic Director of the Astor Johnson Repertory Dance Theatre; a roundtable discussion on the relevance of Dance in various pursuits – health, religion, art, self-expression; a tribute, and an award to contributors to Black Dance!
SDDF is supported in part by the South Dallas Cultural Center, City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, the James and Gayle Halperin Foundation, and the Star System of donors to ARGA NOVA DANCE.
