
Lela Bell is originally from London, England and grew up in Beaumont, Texas. She has worked as a professional dancer and choreographer performing and working with companies such as Dancer’s Unlimited, Nova Dancing Company, Five Degrees of Dance, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Dallas Children’s Theatre, Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre, Water Tower Theatre, Ewert and Company, Ballethnic, and The Dallas Opera. In addition to performing, Mrs. Bell has taught dance in Dallas, London, Wales, Atlanta, Nacogdoches, and Beaumont. She has studied cultural dance as well as classical dance styles from various renowned artists such as Chuck Davis, Babatunde Olatunje, Robert La Fosse, Juanita Finkenberg, and Donald McKayle.
In addition to being a professional dancer she is a professional actress represented by Linda McAlister Talent. She has been in many commercials, industrials, and films. Her latest leading role projects include “Secrets”, “Why do I look like my father”, a feature length titled “Small Timers”, “Dymora”, and “The Restaurant” which was chosen to screen at the 2007 Hollywood Black Film Festival in Beverly Hills. Lela will premiere her first major short film title “Changing” in February 2010. She appeared on Barney & Friends as a dancer October 2009 and recently recorded voices for a new video game set to be released at the end of 2009.
